    Pike Lake State Park

    Today we visited Pike Lake State Park for the day and enjoyed the offerings. The lake is smaller, but that didn’t keep us from fully enjoying it! We hung out in the beach area on the small island. Then while Samantha and the girls played there, the boys and I decided to rent a Peddle-boat and traverse the lake. Aurora did join us for the last 20 minutes or so and then we made our way back to the camper, but not before enjoying some ice-cream and getting our book stamped.

    This rural park offers rolling woodlands and the quiet waters of Hargus Lake. Once part of the state’s prairie peninsula, the park’s 310 acres showcase a variety of native landscapes and wildlife. A great way to see the park is to hike the Hargus Lake Trail, which traverses the entire lake shoreline. We decided to venture over to A.W.     Deer Creek State Park

    Deer Creek State Park, located in central Ohio near Mount Sterling, encompasses more than 2,300 acres of gently rolling fields, woodlands, and a placid reservoir.
